08 / FAQ

Questions, answered.

Still unsure? Write to
hanulchampionship@gmail.com

Who can compete?

Any trainee of a registered taekwondo dojang or team, in Korea or abroad. You enter the division that matches your year of birth in 2027.

What is the difference between Group A and Group B?

Group A is for elite athletes holding a 1st Poom/Dan or higher certificate from Kukkiwon or a recognized national association; kyorugi is single elimination on electronic protectors. Group B is for colored belts and dojang trainees; athletes are placed in pools of four, so every entrant wins a medal.

What equipment do I need to bring?

For Group A the organizer provides KPNP electronic body protectors and headgear. You bring genuine KPNP electronic socks, a groin guard, forearm and shin guards, gloves and a white or clear mouthguard. In Group B the organizer supplies protectors, but personal protective gear is your own.

How does weigh-in work?

Weigh-in is on Friday 15 January at the Tiên Sơn gymnasium, wearing dobok trousers and the official T-shirt. The tolerance is +300 g in Group A and +1.0 kg in Group B. You have up to two attempts; a failed weigh-in means disqualification or re-bracketing after paying the weight-change fee (overseas teams).

How do I register and pay?

Contact the organizing committee by email, KakaoTalk or WhatsApp to submit your team entry. The committee will send you the entry-fee details and payment instructions; put your team and country in the transfer memo. Registration runs from 1 October to 20 December 2026 and closes early at 1,500 entries.

Can I get a refund?

Entry fees cannot be refunded once the official draw is complete.

How do I file an appeal?

Only a team representative or coach holding an official credential may appeal, in writing to the appeals committee within 10 minutes after the match ends. An appeal fee applies to overseas teams; it is fully refunded if the appeal is upheld and goes to the tournament fund if rejected. The committee’s decision is final.

What is the reserve day?

Sunday 17 January is used only if Saturday’s matches are delayed and unfinished. If everything finishes on time, the day is used for a Da Nang cultural excursion and farewell program.

What do taekwondance teams need to submit?

A team of 5–10 members performing up to five minutes (3–5 recommended), with at least 60% authentic taekwondo movements. Email your music file to the organizing committee by 5 January 2027.

Is there an official tour for Korean teams?

Yes, an optional 4-night, 6-day program (14–19 January 2027) covering the five-star hotel, meals, coaches, guides and attractions. See the Tour section for the itinerary and payment schedule, and ask the Korea contact for the program fee.
